Today I ran 10 miles. I wish I could be more proud of my accomplishment, but I’m just happy that I made it through. I’m not even going to share my splits with you, because they were pretty pathetic. I averaged about 11:26/mile. I think what I’m most proud of is that I didn’t once have to stop to use the bathroom.
That is a big deal for me, since I usually have to stop every couple miles. Woo Hoo for small victories. I took a short walking break during miles 5, 7 and 8 and had a Gu around mile 6. It was such a big difference from running on the treadmill. I have to say that I have a pretty good relationship with my treadmill. I actually kinda like him. I almost feel wrong saying that…’real’ runners are supposed to hate treadmills.
Yesterday was the first day of my online Advanced Anatomy and Physiology course that I am taking this summer. It is a tad overwhelming. Actually, it is really overwhelming and I am trying my best to not freak out and get myself all worked up over this. I always get a little anxious at the beginning of a new class until I get settled into the routine of the course. This one is going to be a lot of work. And there is that whole fetal cat thing. Not looking forward to the dissection. I know that it is a hugely valuable tool, but I just hate that an animal had to be sacrificed.
Tomorrow is Jaden’s last day of preschool and there is going to be a picnic. I am very excited to be able to go, but there is a part of me that is a little sad that he is growing up so fast. He will never be this age again. He is just going to keep growing and learning and changing. And while I’m grateful for all of that, I do sometimes miss him being my little boy.
