Three Things Thursday

Is it Thursday?  I haven’t slept since Valentine’s Day, so I really have no idea what day it is.  Regardless…here are three things.  Winking smile

1.  I love oatmeal.  Really….it’s almost an addiction.  I love having lazy mornings when I can make oatmeal.  The last two mornings, I have made myself a huge bowl of oatmeal with all sorts of yummy mix-ins…pumpkin, banana, flax, chia seeds, brown sugar.  Yum!

2.  Poor Logan is spending another two days with the bili light.  We took him in yesterday for a follow up.  They rechecked his bilirubin levels in the lab (the heel stick worked this time so no need for a blood draw from a vein!).  When we got to Pediatrics, the nurse practitioner told us that he levels had dropped from 19.5 to 16.5.  Good, but not good enough to take the light back.  She was afraid that if we stopped using the light, his levels might go back up again.  So, I will take him back down to the clinic again tomorrow for another recheck and hopefully we won’t need to keep the bili light over the weekend.

Also, Logan somehow gained a lot of weight in two days!  Granted, yesterday when we weighed him, I had just finished feeding him.  Monday he weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces.  Yesterday, he weighed 8 pounds!  Almost back to birth weight.

3.  Jaden has finally held his little brother.  When Logan was first born, Jaden said he didn’t want to hold him until he was 2 years old.  Last night, I was able to capture photographic evidence of Jaden with Logan on his lap.

This was only the second time he held the baby and he isn’t quite sure what he is supposed to be doing.  He ends up squirming around so much that poor Logan just keeps slipping off his lap.  But, he’ll get better with practice.  After all, Logan isn’t going anywhere.
