Does he look ready for that tube to come out?!!  The swelling has really gone down in his face.  He looks almost normal.

The extubation was uneventful.  They have him on a little bit of supplemental oxygen until he settles down, but he is doing great!

I feel like I can breathe for the first time in a week.  My heart still breaks to hear him cry.  He is very hoarse from having the tube in so his cry is very raspy and sounds so sad.  It has been 134 hours since I have held him and I hope that will change very soon.  I am just so happy to see his little face and I can’t wait to squeeze him.  I’m a happy momma right now.
