Foodie Pen Pal September

I can’t believe it is time for another Foodie Pen Pal reveal!  This program is awesome.  You should do it.

This month I was paired with the inspiring Jacqueline.  Hop on over and check out her blog.  This girl has revamped her lifestyle.  She is making good choices and losing weight and sharing her story.  Trust me, inspiring!

She sent me an awesome box with all sorts of yummy goodies.  Some, I dug into almost immediately and some are being saved for a special occasion.

First, how adorable is that card?  I just love the whimsy.  And, she included the recipe for the granola she sent…which is delicious, by the way.  It has almonds and chia seeds and cranberry and all sorts of other good stuff.  I dug in right away.

The tea and the honey will be saved for a tea date…or for when the weather cools and I have some time to myself to sit and sip and enjoy (I never get time alone.  I may have to lock myself in the bathroom.)

I also got coffee.  I love coffee! Coffee should be its own food group.  Coffee is very important to my life.  Coffee.  Yes.

The cute little boxes contain three different types of flavored almonds, that Jacqueline told me were grown locally.  I sampled each, and they are all delicious.  But the jalapeño ones have a fantastic kick!

Now, I need to talk for a minute about the caramel wafer in the front of the picture.  She sent me 4 of these.  I will need about 4,444,444 more.  I tore into one of them immediately.  I had to restrain myself from tearing into all of them immediately.  They are very similar to the Honey Stinger Waffles I use as fuel on my long runs.  Except with caramel.  And everyone knows that caramel is a gift from God that proves His love for us.  These are fantastic!

She also sent me this really yummy strawberry and syrah jelly.  Except that I ate it and never took a picture.  Boo.

And she made me this adorable coffee/tea mug cozy.  It is so cute, but I have splashed coffee on it and it’s dirty.  So instead, you should all go check out the really cool stuff she has on her etsy site.

Don’t you want to join in the fun?  Head on over to The Lean Green Bean and sign up!

Now, don’t you wanna join in the fun?! Here are the Foodie Penpals details:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.
